NPHHI tracks quality improvement measures and practices that affect
public hospitals, informs NAPH members about the impact of these
measures and practices, provides educational activities in association with
our strategic partners, and represents the safety net perspective with
national organizations involved in setting quality standards.

NAPH Members Focus on Reducing Readmissions
(June 2011) This data brief provides findings from NAPH’s readmissions survey, including strategies for reducing readmissions and populations at high risk for readmissions in NAPH member hospitals.

Heart Failure & Heart Attack Quality Data Performance
(May 2011) This data brief provides information on how NAPH members as a group perform on publicly-reported measures of care for patients with heart failure and heart attack.

UHC Benchmarking
NPHHI staff work to involve NAPH members in the University HealthSystem Consortium's Benchmarking and Improvement Services program.

National Quality Forum Participation
NPHHI directs much of its work to monitoring and securing NAPH member participation in the National Quality Forum.

Hospital Quality Alliance Participation
NAPH and NPHHI are members of the Hospital Quality Alliance and the Alliance's Measures Workgroup.

Quality Survey and Site Visits
With support from Kaiser Permanente, NPHHI and UHC worked together to complete a comprehensive study of quality improvement work among NAPH member hospitals.
